Arts and crafts describes a wide variety of activities involving making things with one’s own hands. Arts and crafts is usually a hobby. Some crafts (art skills) have been practised since preshistoric times, others are more recent inventions. Art and craft play a significant role in education, fostering creativity, self-expression, and cognitive development. In schools, including KVS (Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan), art and craft programs are essential components of the curriculum. Through engaging in various art forms, such as drawing, and painting, children develop essential cognitive skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making. They can explore different colours, shapes, and materials, encouraging them to think outside the box and come up with innovative ideas.
